#ShelfLove 2017 - June Check-In

Welcome to June! Even though I'm actually writing this in July... I'm so far behind with everything that I'm just frantically trying to catch up in one way or another.

My #ShelfLove total has increased by 15 in May, taking me up to 66 books from the TBR pile so far this year. Not bad but not great either, I'm definitely going to struggle to reach my target of 180 by the end of the year. I expect June will be library/Kindle books as I'm away for most of the month and July will be a bit of a TBR reading black hole as I'll be reading my way through my YALC list before ComicCon at the end of the month.

Aims

• Read at least 15 of my own books a month - they have to have been on my shelves up to and including December 2016
• For every 15 books read I'm allowed to buy 3 brand new books
• For every 20 books donated to either charity or the library, I can buy 2 new books

Events

I went to an amazing event in May as part of CrimeFest - Murder, Magic & Mayhem featuring Jasper Fforde, Ben Aaronovitch & Paul Cornell! It was a great night and it was lovely to see all three authors again. And yes, I was sitting in the front row... The green trousers belong to Cheryl who was hosting the event.

Challenge Updates

Goodreads 174/365

23 books ahead! This is good news as it means when the inevitable slump hits (and it will) I do have a bit of a cushion!

Fairy Tales Retold 1/16

No change this month, need to start reading fairy tales!

TBR Pile Challenge 2014 27/50(200)

A huge leap this month as I read 19 books I own, 13 of which qualified for this challenge! Over halfway to my 'official' target but this is the one where I want to read 200+ so I need to step it up a gear :)

2014 Series Challenge 5/12

I binge read the entire Mortal Instruments series this month so I could read City of Heavenly Fire without running across any spoilers. I also finished the Divergent series, I have nothing to say about that last book...
