This week's choice is -

Company Town - Madeline Ashby
ISBN - 9780857665362
Publisher - Angry Robot
Expected release date - September 30th 2014
Find - Goodreads | Book Depository

Meet Hwa. One of the few in her community to forego bio-engineered enhancements, she’s the last truly organic person left on the rig. But she’s an expert in the arts of self-defence, and she’s been charged with training the Family’s youngest, who has been receiving death threats – seemingly from another timeline.

Meanwhile, a series of interconnected murders threatens the city’s stability – serial killer? Or something much, much worse...?

I loved Madeline Ashby's writing in vN and I have iD waiting to be read so when I read about Company Town it went straight on to the wishlist! Sometimes I need to step away from fantasy and YA, this fits the bill perfectly and is part of my ongoing quest to read more adult fiction. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy and I love that cover!

Top Ten Tuesday #57 - Best Books So Far This Year!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely people at The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is -

Top Ten Books I've Read So Far This Year

I've noticed this year I'm not giving as many books my top rating, at the time of writing this post I've given 5 stars to just three books which is unheard of. On the other hand there are quite a few picture books with five stars because I'm not the one rating them! Here's my list of the best books I've read so far this year, there are 11 rather than 10 but as I started with 17 I think 11 is a good compromise :)

Poison

A Face Like Glass

Cracked

Peacemaker

Stolen Songbird

Days of the Deer

vN

Glaze

Jasmyn

Peter Nimble & His Fantastic Eyes

Ancillary Justice
