F or a few weeks now I've seriously debated giving up on blogging. It's not like I don't love it, I do. I just seem to have lost my enthusiasm about it and I'm really unsure of where I fit in. As of now I haven't decided but I'm leaning towards just bimbling along as I always have. We shall see, at the very least I promise not to disappear without trace!

Two weeks today I'll hopefully be sitting in a writing workshop at ComicCon and fingers crossed won't have spent all my money on Funko Pops! I've been really good this week, the only books I bought were these gorgeous new British Fashion Designer Editions of Beatrix Potter stories for the 150th anniversary. If you follow me on Instagram you'll have already seen my photos and how beautiful they really are. In review titles I finally got my hands on The Women In The Walls by Amy Lukavics and the new Natalie Richards which sounds far creepier than her previous novels...

Three weeks today ComicCon will be all but over and hopefully I won't have run out of money! I've been saving since my vacation to France but a large chunk of that is for my hotel. I really don't want to go book buying mad this year but there are a couple of books I'm keeping my fingers crossed for and of course I'll be checking out the Funko Pops! I nearly got away with a book free week but had to buy the Collectors Edition of The BFG with never-seen-before illustrations from Quentin Blake and then I had to pick up a copy of the latest Wells & Wong Mystery by Robin Stevens. Review books wise I was good, just three titles...

So, looking back through my posts I haven't posted a haul since March. Ooops? Instead of bombarding you with all the books I've received over the last 3 months here's what I got over the last week. I have to say I've been pretty good, I've only bought a handful of books and until last weekend had avoided Netgalley and Edelweiss! Thanks to DAW Books, Rebellion Publishing and Tachyon for these copies!

I was full of good intentions this week, with everything... Absolutely nothing happened though :( No blogging, not much reading and no progress on my decluttering project! After my rituximab infusion last week this week was a steroid injection directly into my knee joint, it hasn't helped and in fact feels worse. I'm struggling to get out of bed in the mornings just now but I'm ever hopeful things will improve soon. I have my 2nd rituximab infusion on Monday though so wish me luck!

Another one of my prepaid preorders arrived this week, the Cat Valente, and it's so nice seeing the whole series lined up on my shelf. Completely unnecessary but I bought the gorgeous special edition of The Lie Tree, all I need now is the US hardcover and I'll have a complete set! My Agatha Christie project continues too and I've decided I might as well buy the ones I really want to read so long as I don't go nuts... Not a bad week overall, 3 books for review and 3 books bought (sort of).

So, it was World Book Day yesterday and over 200 children in a bookshop at once all wanting to choose their WBD books is a fantastic time to take your lunch break... I escaped by going somewhere else to pick up a couple of the WBD titles and trying to find a quiet spot in the coffee shop to read. From that you can gather I bought books again but it was only 3 of the WBD titles plus I completely forgot to mention my copy of Morning Star last week. I think anybody who's a fan would be alright with me breaking my ban for the last of that particular trilogy!

Back to the books and it's been another good week in terms of books in, only two review books and one book bought... I know, I know! I said I wasn't buying any books but this one is different because it's my bestest book buddy's second novel and she's amazing and everyone needs to check it out :) Also amazing is the cover for Ali Shaw's new book, The Trees. I loved The Girl With Glass Feet so can't wait to get stuck into this one. In other news my replacement Kindle Fire still isn't here and Amazon are now saying end of February/beginning of March. Grrrr...

Book Haul #118, Or I Never Realized How Much I Used My Kindle Fire...

I still don't have my new Kindle Fire... I can see it in my orders on Amazon, it's just sitting there saying 'not yet dispatched' and 'expected delivery by January 12 to January 18'. It's now January 16 so unless a miracle happens, on a Sunday too, it won't be here by the 18th. Not having it is such a pain though as I have discovered I used it for just about everything whenever I was away from home. There's no quick blog posting, no game playing, no watching a movie on the train, nothing. Maybe next weekend I'll have something to show!

I was feeling very pleased with myself last weekend when I was doing my book haul post and thinking well done you for only buying two books up to the end of 2015. And then the last of my medicated haze ordering turned up from Book Depository... Ooops? It was only another two books so I don't think four is too high a number really. I'm doing well on the no book buying front though. I have bought nothing at all in 2016 and I've requested one title on Netgalley this week!

I already own 3 different copies of The Bloody Chamber but I couldn't resist this Penguin Deluxe version with an introduction by Kelly Link. I definitely need to reread this book soon!

My Neighbor Totoro is one of my favorite Miyazaki movies and I've wanted to get this for a while.

Huge thanks to Titan for sending me a copy of Charlie Jane Anders's debut novel. I've been waiting to read this for a long time and I featured it as a WoW pick in April last year!

I actually got this last week but completely forgot that I'd been approved for it. This was another WoW pick in 2015.

So, since my last book haul post, I may have gone slightly mad... It's been 42 days and in those 42 days 30 new books have appeared in the house *looks round in shame at all the stacks* Of the books I bought a lot were finished copies of review books that I got signed at ComicCon & YALC and I knew I was going to go overboard there. Getting them home was another matter...

The rest are review titles and include some amazing books that I can't wait to read! I'm taking part in ARC August so I'm hoping some of them will get chosen from the Jar of Shame (my Netgalley version of a TBR jar!)

Yes, you read that blog post title correctly! I didn't buy a single book this week, at least up until Thursday when I wrote this post. I may not have bought any books but I still spent a small fortune. I bought my tickets for ComicCon in London in July and booked my hotel room - six minute walk from the convention center, so probably just as well. I did get a couple of review titles this week though that I've been really looking forward to so that more than made up for it.

Last but not least, it's #Read-a-thon Day on Saturday! I think I'll mostly be updating on Twitter but I will have an ongoing blog post with book updates so if you feel like cheering me on that would be amazing!
