Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful gals cover at The Broke & The Bookish. This week's topic is a freebie so I'm going to do one that I missed earlier this year.

Top Ten Favorite Books So Far This Year

This is a selection of some of my favorite books this year, not necessarily some of the best but definitely books that will make it on to my 'reread' list in years to come. All fiction apart from one!

Top Ten Thirteen Authors I've Read The Most Books From

This could be a strange list as, if I follow the list on Goodreads, it will have authors on that I haven't read for years but because they are so prolific I've read dozens of books by them! However if I skip a few of them there are far more recent authors ie. from the last decade...

Read 40 or more books

Stephen King

I started reading King's books when I was ten so I'm actually surprised this isn't higher!

Terry Pratchett

Another author I started reading early and it's high because of the wonderful Discworld books.

Read 30 or more

J D Robb

There's a theme coming. Finding a series and binge reading all of the available books. As is the case with the In Death books!

Read 20 or more

Laurell K Hamilton

Yes, I read the Anita Blake books. And then I started the Merry Gentry books...

Read 10 or more

Charlaine Harris

Thanks to Sookie, Lily Bard and Aurora Teagarden!

Raymond E Feist

I read Faerie Tale before I plunged into the Riftwar Saga (and the rest...)

Rachel Caine

Morganville Vampires, need I say more?

Jim Butcher

The Dresden Files, Codex Alera and coming to a bookcase near you soon, the Cinder Spires!

Diana Wynne Jones

Howl, the Chrestomanci series, so many great books...

Neil Gaiman

Because I have read all the books...

Juliet Marillier

Once you've read one Juliet Marillier book you have to read them all!

Charles de Lint

Love, love, love his writing! One day I'll get round to reading everything he's published instead of about half.

Sara Douglass

If you haven't read anything by Sara Douglass then you should, especially if you love epic fantasy. Sadly, she passed away 4 years ago so no more new books.

Book Haul #109, Or The One Where I Had An Unplanned Holiday...

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly event hosted on Tynga's Reviews where we can share what new books we've picked up this past week be they bought, borrowed or downloaded. There are also lots of other 'book haul' memes out there for you to choose from!

I'm starting this week's book haul a day late and on a sad note. As I was sitting typing this post out I discovered that Jonathan Crombie had passed away at the young age of 48 due to a brain haemorrhage. Anyone who grew up in the 1980's and 1990's and watched the television adaptation of Anne of Green Gables knows that Jonathan played Gilbert Blythe. Gilbert was my first real bookish crush so to see Jonathan play him onscreen was amazing and he will never be replaced by any other schmoe they may get to play Gilbert in the future.

On to other news now! I had a bit of an impromptu holiday over the last two weeks with near enough nothing planned for the blog so apologies for that! There was plenty going on though...

Now for the books... I was a bit naughty as I was in London! Even though I have copies of A Darker Shade of Magic and Skin Game I had to get signed copies, obviously. I did mean to take my copy of ADSoM with me but forgot and getting to the Jim Butcher signing was a last minute skin-of-the-teeth thing so was excited to get anything signed and annoyed that I forgot my phone charger. My phone gave up just before I got there so no pictures :( That's the only picture of Sarah Pinborough, Deb Harkness and Victoria Schwab I managed to get that doesn't feature either the arm or the back of the head of Jim at YA Yeah Yeah.
