ReplyDeleteWhen my husband bought me my Kindle, which I SWORE I would never like and ended up loving!, my ma-in-law gave me a $250 Amazon gift card. I nearly passed out, then called her to ask her if she made a mistake, then told her she was nuts. THEN I told her thank you a million times and that i loved her. Then I got off of the phone and went NUTS!

A fancy twilight book mark... I read twilight between the making of the first and the second book. It was all I talked about to everyone so my friend got me a bookmark with all the Cullens on it. I love it and still use it to this day with every book I read (:

ReplyDeleteNormally I just get giftcards to amazon but this year i got something different, I signed up for secret santa and got the first 7 books in paperback for the BDB series and when my FIL & grandparent inlaws gave us cash i went through and added some other books to my shelves. mostly ones ive read that i needed like the other BDB books & the first three books from the tigers curse series. I think this year has been my most bookish christmas ive ever had. I am also giving a bunch of books this year. My kids are both getting new books for christmas and my one niece is getting a book too.

My best present ever was a penguin necklace from my best friend for my birthday. I think I love it most because it was unexpected. We always do dinner and a movie, but she decided to go for more since it was my 21st.

Hmmm...I haven't really received any bookish presents, although I did receive a poster this year that was a crossover of My Little Pony/The Hunger Games (nothing gory - just a District My Little Pony insignia.) That was pretty cool. :)

I haven't received any book for gifts, I usually buy some when my parents give me money a a gift.
ReplyDeleteThat's tough, there were so many good ones! Probably a package that Kimberly Derting (author of the body finder and pledge series) sent me. It had all kinds of signed goodies and I love her so much so it meant everything to me. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThe year before last I got a Kindle, and while I don't read ebooks all the time it has certainly stopped me getting back ache dragging books around with me all the time!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child, we could afford to buy any books because my father was a medical intern. So my mother took me for many trips to the library. I used to leave with armholds of "A Child's Garden of Verse" by Robert Louis Stevenson. I loved that book so much and read and re-read it. In fact I still have it.

ReplyDeleteFor my b-day one year, my brother gave me a purple leather bookmark(I collect them) with a quote embossed on it, "Where there is love, there is life." I treasure that bookmark and still have it even though my daughter used it for teething(still has the bite marks) and was once left in a library book(I tracked it down). He also gave me a $50 Borders gift card which I spent on a personal MP3 player(never opened).
