Stacking the Shelves is a weekly event hosted on
Tynga's Reviews where we can share what new books we've picked up this past week be they bought, borrowed or downloaded. There
are also lots of other 'book haul' memes out there for you to choose
from!
I really didn't mean to buy anything this week but I had a few 'slip-ups', I'm meant to be saving all my money for the fun I'm going to have at LFCC/YALC in July where I know there's going to be so much I want and I'll be mad with myself if I don't have the money! It's not too bad though, I had a gift certificate which covered the cost of two books (one of which, Fly By Night by Frances Hardinge, I had to buy, she's going to be at LFCC and I would love her to sign my books!) and the books I bought on my Kindle were cheap (as in 36p/21 cents for Among the Thorns, I know I could read it for free on Tor's website but I love that cover so had to buy it!) or free - the prequel for Skylar Dorset's faery novel,
The Girl Who Never Was, out in June. And eeek! I got approved for The Girls At The Kingfisher Club, which is a retelling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses, set in the Roaring Twenties, and they're flappers!

Wow. I feel like every week that I visit your blog, I come out with loads of books added to my TBR! They all look so good! I wouldn't know where to begin!
ReplyDeleteOops??? Honestly, that's one of the nicest things to say, although I am sorry if it makes your TBR even more unmanageble! I love going to blogs and adding everything to my TBR, I frequently do it with your's too :)
DeleteOhh, these look fantastic. ;) I'm loving the looks of Glaze and Among the Thorns. I hope you enjoy them all! My StS!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Glaze this afternoon and I can't wait to start it! Among the Thorns caught my eye on the Tor website months ago mostly because of that cover and I've been patiently waiting for it to come out ever since. I've already read it and loved it!
Deletethe Girl Who Kissed a Lie seems interesting. happy reading.
ReplyDeleteI pre-ordered The Girl Who Never Was a while ago but when I saw Girl Who Kissed a Lie was free on Kindle I thought it would be a good way to see if I'm going to like it, hopefully I'll get to it soon!
DeleteI really love the cover for "Magic city". Happy reading!

These look like some pretty great books! I am not trusted to go to a bookstore alone... I always seem to buy at least one :)
ReplyDeleteThe Raven's Banquet looks (and sounds) eerie. And did you realize that three of your books this week have birds on the cover? What are the chances?? :)
ReplyDeleteNice haul!
