Blog Tour & Giveaway: Exodus 2022 by Kenneth Bennet

Welcome to my stop on the tour for Kenneth Bennet's epic Exodus 2022! Scroll down to read about his favorite sci-fi film and to win a copy of the book! Look out for my review at the end of the month, if you like sci-fi you'll like Exodus 2022!

Joe Stanton is in agony. Out of his mind over the death of his young daughter. Unable to contain his grief, Joe loses control in public, screaming his daughter’s name and causing a huge scene at a hotel on San Juan Island in Washington State. Thing is, Joe Stanton doesn’t have a daughter. Never did. And when the authorities arrive they blame the 28-year-old’s outburst on drugs. What they don’t yet know is that others up and down the Pacific coast - from the Bering Sea to the Puget Sound - are suffering identical, always fatal, mental breakdowns. With the help of his girlfriend, Joe struggles to unravel the meaning of the hallucination destroying his mind. As the couple begins to perceive its significance - and Joe’s role in a looming global calamity - they must also outwit a billionaire weapons contractor bent on exploiting Joe’s new-found understanding of the cosmos, and outlast the time bomb ticking in Joe’s brain. Is he losing his mind–or his world?

”Bennett, after a neat Dean Koontz–style curtain-raiser, keeps raising the stakes… Deft storytelling and a riptide of action.” - KIRKUS REVIEWS

"I'm not usually a sci-fi thriller enthusiast. But Kenneth G. Bennett has set this on-the-edge-of-your-seat story in the Great Pacific Northwest where I make my home. After reading EXODUS 2022, this place will never look quite the same. His best yet."- Rebecca Wells, author of Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood and other novels.

"Exodus 2022 is an extraordinary book—a wild, thrilling ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering and worrying about Joe, Ella, and an unforgettable creature named Mia, while tackling themes as big as life itself, the connection between humankind and the natural world, and the fate of the planet as we know it. Highly recommended!"- Syrie James, bestselling author of The Missing Manuscript of Jane Austen

Science Fiction On Film

My favorite sci-fi movie is “Contact”, adapted from a book by Carl Sagan—astronomer, physicist, and creator of the original Cosmos series.

“Contact”, in case you haven’t seen it, tells the story of a radio astronomer (played by Jodie Foster) who intercepts encrypted radio signals from an alien civilization. The signals contain the plans for a fantastically advanced machine—a machine that could lead to a huge forward leap in human civilization or (as the doubters believe) to annihilation.

I love the uplifting, “anything is possible” tone implicit in Contact as well as the grand mystery and intrigue of the story. Contact addresses one of the biggest questions of all: “Are we alone in the universe?” and wraps it an intelligent, engaging, inspiring story.

  4. The thing that struck me the most....as I was reading the synopsis my son-in-law popped into my mind, & I had to send him a message recommending the book before I could focus on anything else. Probably not what you are looking for, but I have never had this happen, especially w/him. I really don't know much about his reading preferences. Kind of interesting for me.....

  6. This sounds great, somthing totaly different then most books, i must admit it is not somthing i normally read but it does sound great, and what stuck out at me the most, is the part the said " a edge of your seat thrill ride" that tells me right off that it is a fast paced book and probally a thriller, or some kind of suspence and i love those type of books that keep me guessing and i can't put them down!! now all i need is that kindle so i can read it on there!! lol thanks for the great giveaway and i look forward to reading the book. fingers crossed for this giveaway too always wanted one.

  8. My son said the pacing is fast and that the short chapters really made him keep turning pages into the night. "Just one more chapter" and the next he knew, it was 2:30am.
