Book Haul #112, Or The One Where I Bought All The Books... Again!

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly event hosted on Tynga's Reviews where we can share what new books we've picked up this past week be they bought, borrowed or downloaded. There are also lots of other 'book haul' memes out there for you to choose from!

So, since my last book haul post, I may have gone slightly mad... It's been 42 days and in those 42 days 30 new books have appeared in the house *looks round in shame at all the stacks* Of the books I bought a lot were finished copies of review books that I got signed at ComicCon & YALC and I knew I was going to go overboard there. Getting them home was another matter...

The rest are review titles and include some amazing books that I can't wait to read! I'm taking part in ARC August so I'm hoping some of them will get chosen from the Jar of Shame (my Netgalley version of a TBR jar!)

Bookmarked... #5

The return of the weekly post letting you all know what I'm reading and have lined up for the week! It's my own version of Sheila at Book Journey's It's Monday What Are You Reading and I have her permission to rename it for my own nefarious reasons :)

Hands up if you thought I'd fallen off the planet? Yeah, me too! I don't even know where to begin except to say sorry - again - for my really crappy blogging this year. I'm hopefully home for a good while now so can get caught up, start posting regularly again, catch up on all my reading and maybe even get back to scheduling blog posts in advance!

I haven't been doing anything exciting while I've been away - apart from LFCC & YALC, enjoyed it this year more than last but there's still things I didn't like and I'm still completely stunned about the totally rude encounters I had with a couple of bloggers. I don't think I'm going to do a write-up post because I think those incidents have colored the whole thing for me sadly. Highlights were finally getting to meet the wonderful amazing Frances Hardinge (!!!), there were photos, she drew geese in my books and she'd heard of my blog!!! Another highlight was meeting the amazing Dawn Kurtagich, author of The Dead House, and bonding over parma violets much to the disgust of Kat Ellis, meeting Cassandra Clare & Sarah Rees Brennan and some fantastic panels. If you asked me now I'd probably say I wouldn't go again, not for YALC anyway, but who knows what next year will bring?

Book Haul #103, Or The One Where I Fall Off The Wagon A Bit...

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly event hosted on Tynga's Reviews where we can share what new books we've picked up this past week be they bought, borrowed or downloaded. There are also lots of other 'book haul' memes out there for you to choose from!

As you may have guessed from this post's title I bought books this week, not a huge amount but still more than I wanted to. I think because I had a gift card I got into the mindset I could buy anything I wanted and it didn't count... Crazy, crazy thinking but at least I was fairly restrained! Keep thinking holiday & ComicCon!!! It was my library book delivery this week too but I think I'll leave that until next week as I got a lot of books, and by a lot I mean about thirty. Yes, thirty library books...

Here's what I got for review this week and what I spent my gift card/hard earned pennies on!

Book Haul #73

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly event hosted on Tynga's Reviews where we can share what new books we've picked up this past week be they bought, borrowed or downloaded. There are also lots of other 'book haul' memes out there for you to choose from!

Another great week on the buying front, one pre-order which I've been waiting for what feels like forever and a special edition hardcover of one of my favorite books. I think my postman thinks I'm sick or something as he hasn't had to stagger up the path under the weight of a dozen parcels! To make up for the lack of buying books it was library week this week so a nice big stack of books appeared on Thursday, lots of great reading for Easter.

Bought

Dreams of Gods & Monsters | Fahrenheit 451
Borrowed

The Other Life | Daughter of the Blood | Black City

Dearly Beloved | Happy Ever After | Dreams & Shadows

Dark Hear Surrender | Exit Kingdom | Boy Snow Bird

The Ninth Circle | Jasmyn | Bird Box
