I've been better at not buying books than last week. I didn't pay for a single book at all! Why can't I have been this good all year long? I'm pretty sure I would have saved a fortune and been able to buy my Kitchen Aid I've been drooling over for a couple of years now. Never mind, maybe I'll actually stick to a book ban next year... I'm looking forward to reading Kelly Link's short stories, her first for adults in a decade and The Squickerwonkers? I can't wait to read it with the twins :) Huge thanks to Titan for that one!

I'm not quite sure where I came across Lark Rising but I saw the cover and liked it. What really appealed to me though is that the blurb says it will appeal to fans of Juliet Marillier and Kristin Cashore. If this book is anywhere near as good as Daughter of the Forest or Graceling I'll be a happy girl :)
