Off To Oz Giveaway Hop - Int

Welcome to the Off To Oz giveaway hop hosted by Angela's Anxious Life and I Am A Reader Not A Writer! This hop is part of Classics Retold month so up for grabs will be any retelling of a novel (ie. Bitter Greens is Rapunzel, Cinder is Cinderella) up to the value of $15 and will be international as long as the Book Depository ship to you, check this list to see if your country is listed. The giveaway starts now and runs until midnight on September 17th, all you have to do is fill out the Rafflecopter!

  3. Difficult. It's my favorite genre, so I read many of these books. To list some:

    Cinderella -> Cinder by Marissa Meyer.
    Twelve dancing princesses -> Entwined by Heather Dixon & Wildwood dancing by Juliet Marillier.
    Beauty and the beast -> Heart's blood by Juliet Marillier.
    The six swans -> Daughter of the forest by Juliet Marillier.
    Red riding hood -> Scarlet by Marissa Meyer.

    Any of Gregory Maguire's books are fun, though Wicked is probably my favorite.

  25. I honestly can't think of a retelling I've read that I've liked better than the original. The only retellings I can think of right now that I've read are the re-writes of the original fairy tales and I liked the dark versions better, even as a child. I haven't read any of the new retellings, yet, though I'm looking forward to it. michelle_willms@yahoo.com

  26. So far, Marissa Meyer's book are my favorites. Because the stories are based on there classics, full of symbolism & yet the stories she tells are unique.
