Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely people at The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is -
Top Ten Books Dealing With Tough Subjects
This list took me ages to put together because I could not remember what books I'd read that would fit the criteria! It's actually a Top Nine list and the majority of these titles are from before I started blogging.
Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides |
Room - Emma Donoghue |
Wonder - R J Palacio |
Speak - Laurie Halse Anderson |
Thirteen Reasons Why - Jay Asher |
The Fault In Our Stars - John Green |
If You Find Me - Emily Murdoch |
Wintergirls - Laurie Halse Anderson |
Before I Die - Jenny Downham |
So many great books on this list. I'm particularly partial to Room and Speak. I need to get off my tookus and read Middlesex.
ReplyDeleteI've seen TFIOS on lots of lists today. It's on mine, too, because it's such a beautiful, authentic look at cancer. I laughed, I cried, I couldn't stop reading ...
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I've heard great things about If You Find Me, but haven't read it yet. TFioS is sooo sad. Great list!

I looooved If You Find Me!! It was so terrible and heartbreaking but yet so beautiful. And it ended in an optimistic way, which is a great bonus. It's an absolute must-read.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Thirteen Reasons Why.
Great picks!!

I have added Middlesex to my to-read list, and I have long wanted to read pretty much anything by Laurie Halse Anderson. Great list!
