Something Wicked Strikes Giveaway Hop


Welcome to my favorite time of the year! In honor of this I'm joining in the Something Wicked Strikes Giveaway hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings, The Nocturnal Library, Candace's Book Blog and My Guilty Obsession. I'm giving you the chance to choose a creepy/scary/mysterious/thrilling book of your choice from the Book Depository up to the value of $15!

All you have to do is leave a comment telling me your favorite scary read (or just a favorite book you read at this time of year if you don't do scary) and a way of getting in touch if you're the lucky winner!

The giveaway is open from today until midnight on October 31st and don't forget to check out the other fabulous blogs taking part, find a list of them here or use the linky list below! Good luck and thanks for entering!

  23. Stephen King is the master of scares, no doubt. I also have to give shout outs to Gretchen McNeil for Possess and the doll scene, Nancy Holder for the whole Possessions series, and Kendare Blake for Anna Dressed in Blood and the basement scene!! And I am seriously hoping that Mary: The Summoning and The Fall are able to get to me, too! Thank you for the giveaway!

  26. I love all things horror. So whenever I find scary reads I read it immediately. There is a short stories book called CreepyPasta that I found on Amazon. It has the best scary stories that are so so so creepy. :)

  39. Goosebumps series is the ultimate favorite from childhood. Most recently, though, I am loving EVERYTHING by Gratchen McNeil. You want something creepy, read her books. I started with "Ten", which was fantastically terrifying!

  40. I've never read a scary book before. I've had Anna Dressed in Blood on my TBR list forever, maybe I'll read that this month. I think the closet I've come to is maybe The 5th Wave. Even though it's not considered scary, if aliens came to earth it would freak me out. Thank you!

  50. I haven't read many scary books or at least what I would consider scary since I don't scare easy lol! The one book that I absolutely loved and actually found kinda scary was The Last Bastion of the Living by Rhiannon Frater. It is one of my favorite books of all time and I wish that it was a series or was made into a movie. Thank you for the giveaway!!

    :O Believe it or not I LOVE anything with zombies, and Stephen King's THE CELL was almost impossible to put down lol As mentioned by the poster above me, I tried to read IT and could NOT do it .... creepy alien clown thing NOPE. THAT. :P I'm such a wuss lol

I generally don't read real scary stories, although I guess that could be pretty subjective LOL I do love a good urban fantasy where there is plenty of action and fighting the supernatural baddies. Patricia Briggs's Mercy Thompson series has some pretty intense installments, but they are also balanced with a bit of humor. Thank you for participating in this fun hop.

  110. I love ghost stories the most but have a hard time choosing my favorite of them. One of my favorite spooky reads is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman which is pretty similar to 'From the Dust Returned' by Ray Bradbury! :)

  123. I don't have a particulat title but I have some favorite authors. Stephen King, John Saul, Dean Koontz and Richard Laymon. Each style is different King for spooky, Saul varies, Koontz is psychological, Laymon is macabre. Thanks for the chance!
